Offering a detailed explanation of the events of the past 24 hours, Tri-services spoke in one voice against Pakistani misadventurism.

Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor said “One Pakistani F-16 was shot down by an IAF MiG 21 Bison Aircraft.East of Rajouri, parts of F-16 have been recovered, inside Indian territory. Also, IAF is happy that Wing Commander Abhinandan is returning tomorrow.” He also said that there were many factual inaccuracies in Pakistani statements. Fairly credible evidence with us of damage to Pak terror camps. Premature to mention casualty numbers, said RGK Kapoor.

We are ready for any misadventure by Pakistan and we are ready for resolute action. We want to ensure safety and security of our citizens, sais Navy Rear Admiral DS Gujral. He also said that Indian navy remains vigilant to prevent any misadventure by Pakistan in the maritime domain.

“The Navy is deployed in a high state of readiness and remains poised on surface, under sea and in air to deter, prevent and defeat any misadventure by Pakistan in maritime domain,” a Defence spokesperson said in a statement. “The Navy assures of a resolute, swift and strong response when needed. We stand as one with the Army and Air Force to ensure the safety and security of the nation and our citizens,” he said.

The meeting comes an hour after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said his government has decided to release Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman tomorrow.

The government yesterday had summoned Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner to “strongly object” Pakistan’s vulgar display of an injured personnel of the Indian Air Force in violation of all norms of International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Convention.”

Pakistan’s move to de-escalate tensions is believed to have come amid international intervention.
